About Producer Jon Greenhalgh
Jon Greenhalgh began his career as an actor, appearing in John Hyams' "One Dog Day," which premiered at the Taos International Film Festival in March of 1997. Upon first viewing of the film, Jon realized that he had absolutely no acting talent whatsoever, and had no right being in front of a camera in any capacity. In June of 1999 he moved to the other side of the camera and produced the documentary film "The Smashing Machine," which was purchased by HBO and aired in January of 2003 as part of their "America Undercover" series. In August of 2004, he teamed with The Independent Film Channel to produce "Rank," a documentary film about the lives of three professional bull riders. "Rank" will be premiering in March at the 2006 South by Southwest Film Festival. Currently, Jon is working as a screenwriter on "Diane's Room," a biography film about the turbulent life of Olympic champion wrestler, Dan Gable. The project is being produced by Academy Award-winning screenwriter John Irving, and is due to begin production in late 2006.
